Not only did a 7.1 earthquake hit Christchurch, but a few hours later a sky diving plane carrying 9 people; 4 tourists and 5 sky dive instructors went down and there were no survivors. This is devastating to NZ Skydive as it is a small community and the loss is felt by everyone. Supposedly there were a group of tourists who let the 4 other travelers go ahead of them as they wanted to jump together. Talk about lucky – I would be going to get a lottery ticket if I were them. There is no word on what caused the plane to go down. What a crazy weekend in New Zealand!
