It was the monthly industry party this past Friday and it was great as usual! It was held Nomads – Fat Camel, which is a hostel here in Auckland. Nomads has hostels all over NZ, OZ & Fiji! The night started with a few bevies at work and then off to the Fat Camel for a Westie Party.
What’s a westie? A westie is some who lives in west Auckland, usually has a mullet, no sense of style, lives about 10 years behind the rest of the country, back ground in farming, loves rock’n roll, lower class, limited education.. pretty much a Canadian red neck.
Some people were dressed up as westies, which always adds to any party! Unlike the past industry party it wasn’t free booze, but it was discounted. It was $3 for a pint, so one cannot complain. It was a great time! The best part of the evening was definitely the air guitar competition. Those westies play a mean air guitar! Nomads – Fat Camel is a fun hostel with a great bar to boot!
